Last time I posted my half-finished "Rekindled Shirt", where I painted some text on with special tulip paint.
For the first time I dared to enter a swap! I hope somebody will claim my offer, this is what it looks like!
50 x pink shiny beads
15 x green (jade?) glass beads
8 x flat green (jade?) glass beads
2 x (different) keychains from Turkey containing a total of 55 beads
1 x big metal shoe-shaped charm decorated with ornamental stones
15 x wooden colored beads with on one side chinese marks, the other side a little buddha
And I'm sending it in a cute recyclable bag (in background)
Through ravelry I stumbled upon Supersoesje! She - just like me - likes amigurumi's, fabrics & sewing but she's also busy with glass making (wow!!!) and felting. She has her own fun crafty blog! A must-see for those who can read Dutch!
I think she definately can teach me some things regarding blogging! Click here to see her site!
Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.
I wasn't aware of this new term (which obviously isn't so new anymore, but to me it is) but I think my latest project falls under this category of "upcycling". This is what I've done!
1) I took my wooden "memory-box" (where I keep all sorts of memory-thingies, obviously (: )
2) Then I took one of my very old "should-be-thrown-away-long-time-ago-jeans" and cut it up into pieces (great to get some frustrations out!) and started gluing it on my boring box.. I figured, these jeans also have some memories, so why not intergrate it with my memory box?
Here's the result!
Do you also have shirts that you love to wear and hate to throw away because of a stain or the fit just isn't what it used to be? Well I have! And in my case there's also another reason why I don't wear shirts anymore.. I sometimes just get bored with them!
I have this simple, brown longsleeve and although I did love to wear it, after a while I felt boring wearing it! Then it got stained, but somehow I couldn't bring myself to throw it away..
So when I found this 3Dpaint, I thought: "hey let's try some of that.." So I took some paint, some scissors, and..
I'm still busy with it.. It's kind of hibernating... Off to LaLa-land..
But I wanted to show you the half-way result!
As I told you, it's not finished.. And it's my first time so.. Anyway I managed to cut away the stain in my collar, and I hope someday it'll be wearable again.. And if I look like a hippy wearing it, so be it.. At least I won't feel boring ;-)
This girl has such an incredible & unique talent.. The video really touched me, and I think/hope it will touch you too.
Sound is important! And I highly recommend to watch 'till end! :)
I found these fawn accessories from Figs & Ginger and I think they're so cute! Especially with matching necklace & earrings, I really WANT them!!! Sigh... I wish I'd have the talent to make these myself.. So pretty...
I just wanted to share with you that there will be a Crafty Market coming soon! I've never been there before (or at any other craft market) so I'm very excited to go!
The market is May 21 & 22 and I'm very curious to see what they've got..
Ofcourse I'll let you know whether I scored some trinkets and stuff!
For more info visit their website: http://www.craftymarkt.nl/
I'm a fan of MursBlanc. I just love their simple but powerfull statement art.
Finally I managed to get some kind of customized design uploaded to this blog! I'm such a newbie at blogging and I've never worked with custom css so it took me a while to understand what I was doing.
My old blog design was pre-defined and although it was cute, I really wanted to get some of my own stuff in there.
I'm happy that at least I managed to get my own background and banner up! Another project in the works.. (or work in progress :)) Happy me!
Etsy is what I've been missing my whole life. I've always loved to shop but I always hated it so much to find out that many many many more people had the same clothes/shoes/bags etc! Same with IKEA... I'm not saying I don't like their stuff, because I do and it's cheap so.. But if you have more than three or four items from them in your house.... Once I went into a friend's home and I remembered recognizing all their furniture being from IKEA. Again, I'm not saying it wasn't a pretty house, but just not special. Empty, without a story..
I'm taking the Taste Test now.. very fun to do and appearantly I have expensive taste.. Dresses over $600 dollars?!
The one little thing I love most was this lovely vintage style necklace for only $ 11.50.
When browsing (maybe more shopping ^^) today, I found this welcome mat which I thought had a great quote:
I thought: what a nice thing to do for yourself if you buy a welcome mat like that! But since I already have a welcome mat, I thought: hmmm can I come up with something else.. Maybe I can... .... ....
Taadaaa!!! I have this chalkboard thingy in my hall and so I took some crayons and "borrowed" the quote!
Okay, so it's not my very own quote, but it still makes me happy everytime I enter my home or just pass by it going from one room into another! Maybe I will go and still get that welcome mat.. (available at H&M online shop)
Other Happiness Quotes I found inspirational:

To live happily is an inward power of the soul. - Aristotle
Being happy doesn't mean you're perfect. It just means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections. - K.B Indiana (age 14)
Hi! I'm from Amsterdam, I've never been very creative but somehow I found crochet and that fueled the whole creative side in me! I've never been a social-media-diva but I noticed that I do like blogging! Hence my blog about creative stuff :-)
